Meets or exceeds OSHA standards

The safety of your crew is paramount so every Swing-Lo system is tested extensively to ensure that it meets or exceeds OSHA standards. OSHA even uses our scaffold procedures in their safety courses.

Swing-Lo Parapet Scaffold suspends from most bridge rails. Rollers allow crews to easily move scaffold and work deck along parapet. This system is one of the surest ways to reduce your time-on-the-job and costs. Learn how by contacting us.

Parapet Applications
Cut the cost of working on bridges or parking structures designed with rails or overhangs.

SL-25AAPage6Right

Your crew’s job is to work on bridges or parking lot structures, not on the ground below. So instead of building your scaffold from the ground up, build it from the bridge down to your work site.

That’s possible with the Swing-Lo Parapet Scaffold. This safe, cost-saving system locks on to most rails in minutes so you can suspend one or two work decks without special tools.

Want to maximize the efficiency of your work force even more? We designed the Wrap-Around Parapet Scaffold so your crew can simultaneously work along both sides of the bridge and underneath it, too! It’s the easiest way to get close up to inspect for deterioration and rust conditions.

When your crew is sandblasting or stripping a bridge with an overhang, or removing forms on bridges under construction, the Extended Parapet Scaffold positions the work deck right where it needs to be. Not only does it assemble in minutes, it packs up fast and is compact for easier storage, too.

And for parapet and rail bridges with diaphragms, stiffeners and lateral braces that keep the scaffold from rolling the length of the bridge, there’s a solution. The Rolling Cart with Work Platform lets you traverse the length of the bridge with minimal effort.

Rollers keep your crew working, not tearing down and rebuilding scaffolding.

Each one of our parapet scaffold systems can be built with wheels so your crew can roll the entire scaffold along the parapet wall with ease. All it takes is one person to move the scaffold – and that person does it right from the deck. If your application has obstructions that interfere with the scaffold movement, such as water pipe lines or cable lines along the bottom face of the parapet, our technology team can provide you with an upper head assembly designed to keep your scaffold moving.

Stationary rail scaffold is ideal for parking structures.
When your crew is assigned to do maintenance or repairs on a section of an open parking ramp, the Swing-Lo SL-35AA stationary upper head assembly clamps securely over the rails. Add vertical stems and stage brackets and within minutes your workers are on the job. System adapts to most structural bridge railing designs, too, so you can do regular inspections without moving or removing the work deck.

Simple to assemble, easy to access

Ever since our engineers began designing the Swing-Lo parapet scaffold their motto has been, “Keep it simple.” Here is how these systems work:

  • Start at the top. Upper assembly fits over concrete parapet, steel post and aluminum pipe rails.
  • Add hanger assembly.
Braces hold and maintain the parallel distance of the vertical stems for a strong, rigid scaffold. Vertical stems are available in lengths of 8, 12 and 16 feet or in custom lengths.
  • Attach wheel assemblies.
These rollers let your crew roll the scaffold from one end of the work area to the other end without leaving the deck.
  • Add working platform deck and safety rails.
Within minutes your crew is ready to work safely and efficiently on a scaffold system that meets or exceeds OSHA standards.
  • Install ladder support.
How does your crew get from the bridge to the work deck? It is easy with our ladder support system. Lock it to the vertical stem at the elevation you want it. Clamps hold the ladder (not included) securely in place so workers can safely come and go from the work deck and bridge.

SL-15A and SL-15AA Parapet Scaffolds
Work over traffic, water, utility lines or rugged terrain below – from one deck or two.

The SL-15A Parapet Scaffold is a single-stage system. The upper assembly clamps over most concrete parapet, steel/concrete, aluminum pipe rails and steel post-and-rail bridges. Vertical stems allow you to position the working deck and guardrails at an elevation that puts workers where the job is. Wheel assemblies make it mobile the entire length of the bridge. Ladder clamps support standard ladder rungs and adjust for various beams to provide your crew with safe and secure access to the deck. And your crew can assemble this entire system in minutes so it can inspect, paint and maintain areas that conventional scaffold cannot reach.

The SL-15AA Parapet Scaffold DOUBLES your work area. Designed for two stages up to 12 feet long, this assembly lets you suspend one deck over the other so your crew can work simultaneously on upper and lower sections of the bridge fascia. Comes with two sets of lower wheels for easy mobility.

SL-25AA Extended Parapet Scaffold
Reduce the cost of stripping, sandblasting and maintaining bridges designed with overhangs.

With the Extended Parapet Scaffold you get an instant solution on how to suspend a working deck when the bridge is designed with an overhang. The upper assembly extends the scaffold up to 48 inches away from the parapet so your crew can position the working deck right where the job needs to be done. Like the other models, this scaffold clamps to most bridge rails or parapets and comes with wheels so you can roll it from one work site to the next along the bridge.

SL-25DD10 Rolling Cart with Working Platform Scaffold System
By-pass diaphragms, stiffeners and lateral bracing that otherwise would keep your work platform from moving.

swing-lo-002 swing-lo-004

Some parapet and rail bridge designs make it difficult to roll the suspended scaffold deck along the length of the bridge. Diaphragms, stiffeners and lateral bracing obstruct the path. You can avoid that problem with the counterweighted Rolling Cart and Working Platform Scaffold System that traverses the entire length of the bridge. By adding an I-beam by-pass clamp to the parapet system you can get around obstructions with little effort.
